I'm Charming You

Last night, Toronto Business Casual threw an amazing party at the Lobby Lounge. If you haven’t heard of TO Business Casual yet, check out the site and sign up! Membership is free and gets you exclusive invites to all of their fabulous events. Essentially, what they hope to provide is an unpretentious setting where like-minded Toronto professionals can gather, network and socialize.

I went to the event alone, as I usually do. There are always two ways a night will go for me when I go solo. I will either spend the entire time engaged in my Blackberry, a defense mechanism used when the crowd is not particularly welcoming. Or I will leave with an entire new network of friends and connections. Last night, I am happy to say consisted of the latter scenario. This is, in large part, due to the very welcoming personality of Tanya, one of the masterminds behind TBC. She worked the room and made sure all her guests were happy. And there were 200 guests in attendance, so that was no small task.

Beyond the hosts, the crowd was a very friendly one. It was great to see how easily everyone spoke with one another, and I connected with some amazing people. I also left with some awesome swag from Calvin Klein and Stoli. I do smell pretty good right now. Check out the pictures.
