Review: The Kobo Mini – Yay or Nay?

I’d been mulling over the purchase of a Kobo for a while. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get used to reading off of something like that and also, I really like books. I’ve always liked books. Anywhere I’ve ever moved, I’ve taken my book collection with me. One time I had too many books and my mom convinced me to sell some. I got like $54 for a ton of crazy amazing classics. It was heart breaking.

That said, the Kobo Mini went on sale at Indigo (sale runs until tomorrow). The price went from $79.99 to $59.99, including a free coloured snap back worth $20 (I wanted purple, they were out, so pink it was!). So all in all you get a $100 value for $59.99. I figured I’d give it a try.

It took me a bit to figure it out. It’s pretty non-intuitive. I still don’t know everything about it, but I figured out how to read a book on it.

After about 2 pages, I was pretty much used to it. It’s awesome actually. I love that I can carry 1000 books in the palm of my hand. There is something comforting about that. It’s light as a feather, cute and compact. You can take it anywhere, including on the beach.

I say, at this price, it’s a steal. I would totally recommend it to a book lover. Today and tomorrow are the the last days to take advantage of the sale. Check here for retailers.

It took me a while to warm up to the idea of an eReader, but after purchasing my Kobo last summer, I fell in love. It’s fairly easy to use and you can even download books from the library – plus, it’s so cute!
Hope you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I’ve gotten out of mine!
