Tassimo Home Brewer Review – Does the Barcode Brew it Better?

Now, I must start this review off by saying that Tassimo launched a brilliant marketing campaign this holiday season. I received the following email out of the blue a few weeks before Christmas asking who was on my Tassimo Nice List. I could chose anyone my little heart desired to send a Tassimo T55 home brewer to.

Bloggers get a ton of free stuff. I liked that Tassimo wanted to extend the giving beyond just the “influencer”. I had a Tassimo home brewer sent to my aunt in Ottawa. She was totally shocked and it was nice to do something nice for someone I care about.

On Christmas Eve, I also received a Tassimo T55 for myself. I was pretty excited :) When I spend my money, it is usually on pretty clothes and things, so that means my apartment is lacking in fun kitchen things.

So, does the barcode brew it better? I wouldn’t say better, necessarily. The coffee brands it uses taste just as good as they do when made the regular way. But the barcode certainly makes the avid coffee drinker’s life easier and more convenient.

I honestly cannot tell you how delightful it has been to be able to get up in the morning and be able to enjoy a hot cappuccino within minutes of getting out of bed. In addition to that, there is no mess and nothing to clean up after except your cup. The only danger comes from a caffeine overload. It is almost too easy. So you drink more, maybe than you should. Well, I do. Other people usually have a bit more will power than old ValTorontoGal.

A nice foamy, hot cappuccino in under two minutes, right from the comfort of your own home. I honestly never thought I’d delight in that this much. This little ditty has truly made my mornings better.

The verdict:

The Tassimo T55 makes a good, tasty cup of coffee, cappuccino, espresso, etc. in under two minutes without the mess. It’s simple and cute and not too expensive. I find it a charming little house hold item and totally would recommend it to someone like me who loves coffee but isn’t too fussy about a high end brew.

What do you mean when you say “Barcode” brewing? lol I’m totally lost on the coffee-lingo, if that’s it at all even. I had my first coffee in like 10 years today, from McDonalds. I think I’m hooked… I bought my parents a Keurig for Christmas, but was afraid to try it since I didn’t want to waste their k-cups. But since Tassimo/Keurig makes all sorts of drinks like tea, hot chocolate and of course coffee – I’d totally be interested in buying one myself now that I know how quick it is to get a nice hot cuppa.
