TIFF Stuff: Inside the NKPR IT Lounge – Swag, Charity, Food, Fun

For media, TIFF is like mini Christmas time: tons of festivities, food, drinks and gifts. You would be amazed at the amount of gifts that get dumped on media during this time of year. I know I shit on a lot of people because it can get quite obnoxious but to be fair, would you say no to awesome invites, VIP treatment and presents? No, you wouldn’t and neither would I,  which is why I graciously accepted my invite to check out the NKPR IT Lounge  yesterday. It was hustling and bustling with media, a few celebs and of course those charming NKPR girls.

From what I can tell, the NKPR gifting lounge was unique to the others this year as it placed a heavy emphasis on charity, which I think is totally amazing and worth noting. Rather than go overkill by dumping a bunch of crap on people who don’t really need it, NKPR is giving people the opportunity to give back a little.

“Giving back is an integral part of NKPR’s philosophy. While we certainly love the glamour and buzz of this time, it’s important to keep sight of the things that matter most. Through our involvement with APJ, Fashion Cares along with initiatives like Kandy with a K, we;re made it a priority to raise funds and awareness for the causes we passionately believe in” – Natasha Koifman

The charity initiatives start with Kandy with a K, an online candy boutique created by NKPR to raise funds for 10 different causes. The company is also using social media in a great way. Funds will be donated to charitable causes for each new Twitter follower and Facebook fan during the campaign @natashakpr. One charity will be highlighted each of the ten days of TIFF and followers are encouraged to retweet and share information, adding additional funds for the respective causes. Funds will also be donated for each celebrity who poses for the portrait studio.

Fucking, eh.

But, don’t think for a second the lounge was without glitz and glamour. It was tres swanky and I was walked through it by the most charming Corrine, who took me through each station and waited patiently as I got my eyebrows done by Tweezerman. Have you heard of Tweezerman? Delightful products for the girl who has everything. Who wouldn’t love a tweezer encrusted with Swarovski crystals?

There was delicious food by the Food Dudes made with product from the Grain Farmers of Ontario and Great Lakes. Hmmm.

Me and Julio on grain bean bag chairs. Love him.

And finally, I took home a beautiful pair of earrings (top left) from lia sophia . They have such gorgeous and affordable pieces.

Good times. Now back to the real world. Have a wonderful weekend friends xo
